Independence Day, 2005:

We can all celebrate the idea of independence.

In statistics,

two variables are independent if

1. the outcome of one variable has no relation to the outcome on the other.
2. the variables are modeled at right angles or orthogonally.

these concepts are related because:

1. if you move vertically up (+) or down (-), you don't change horizontal position.
2. if you move horizontally left (-) or right (+), you don't change vertical position.

connected with

1. the vertical (y coordinate-axis) and the horizontal (x coordinate=axis) are orthogonal, at right angles.
2. changing one does not impact the value of the other.

Now, for a straight line that is not at right angles, there is some relationship:

y = slope * x + (value at x=0, y intercept)

assume:

1. the line crosses the origin (0,0) so at x=0, y=0, the y intercept is zero and can be dropped.
2. the slope = the rate of rise vertically (y coordinate) divided by the run horizontally (x coordinate) = 1 Unit per 1 Unit or 1.
   

then: y = x

In science,

an independent variable is manipulated, or altered in the WORLD, and the
dependent variable is measured, or observed in the WORLD.

the independent variable pre-cedes

and, in a PURE experiment, causes, changes in
the dependent variable.

In mathematics,

an independent variable is known and
the dependent variable is computed by
an relation or function.

I went to school, studying psychology and mathematics, expecting to tease apart free will and determinism with novel statistical methods. That's not a bad grandiose plan for going madddddddddd.

Because: Free Will and Determination are only ideas.

and by Christian Understanding, Jesus' Presence generates Freedom.

and Nothing's real UNTIL realized IN relationship.

My psychosis began

when "I believed I was to become Satan's sacrifice as a psychotic killer."- spoken to Grace Covenant Church or

when "I believed preparations were being made to take my soul and use me as a human sacrifice." - written to Admissions at Columbia College.

My relationship with Jesus, the Presence of Jesus, not the Knowledge of Dogma, was the first step towards humanity and back from psychosis.

In my studies, I separated

first the World Observer (internal, subjective, conditioned self) from the Observed World (external, objective)

then separated the Self Observer (Self, meta-Cognition) from the conditioned self.

I am conditioned such that Events in the external, Observed World cause Events, reactions, which are avoidance or attraction, in the my Observing internal self.
I observe these feeling, charged, positive or negative, reactions in my thoughts.

In isolation [...a room alone, with a mirror, doing mathematical problems aloud...], I attempted to control the reaction of my self to the world by my thoughts. This led to Magical Thinking and Loose Associations; a reward system wired to very abstract stimuli rather than sense experience.

All I saw was self, and self-manipulation, and could not escape that the WORLD controlled my self. I lost self-control, internally. I believed I would lose external control, as well. I wanted a right attitude but couldn't create it. The more I separated, dissecting my experience, the more fractured and disharmonious I became.

Jesus' Presence intervened.

"I open my eyes and see pale light through the shell."

Jesus is Light.

the x value is usually considered the independent variable.
the y value is usually considered the dependent variable.

A model is a metaphor relating a mathematical concept of an independent variable, a function, and a dependent variable calculable by the function

a physical experience of One State causing through a determined relationship the Next State.

for a model the input value, x, causes the value calculated through some relationship function, y

a physical variable, x, which is manipulated causes through a physical relationship a resultant state y.

Modeling my World

I could say that

at the World Observer and Observed World (conditioned self and objective world) boundary:

the

independent variable;
input value, x;
physical variable;

was

the objective world,

and the

dependent variable;
calculated through some relationship function, y;
resultant state;

was

the conditioned self.

AND: at the boundary between the conditioned self and the Self-Observer

the

Independent variable;
which may be manipulated;

is

the Self-Observer,

for by WILL perspective is chosen,

fundamentally the choice of Love or Fear;

in the relation of father and mother first,
than the relation of God.

yielding in the case of Love: Communion, which is what we are Created by the Creator to Enjoy.

yielding in the case of Fear: Turning away, separating, sinning, hiding, hating... shame.

and the

dependent variable;
resultant state;

is

the conditioned self.

which in the choice of Love as perspective in relation
yields maximum independence or freedom in action

and

which in the choice of Fear as perspective in relation
yields maximum dependence or constraint in action.
